Art Friday (times 2)!

While we were inside doing this:

Ben was outside doing this!

Yeah! After 4 years without a garage, we finally get to have one! I'll keep ya posted with its progress! As for the kids and my Art Friday project - 4th of July foamie visors! Maya was asleep so I did hers and I didn't get a picture until after the other kiddos had left for the night. Oh well- Happy 4th!

late night scrappin'

It doesn't matter how tired I am, I love to late night scrap. A quiet house, ipod on, hot chocolate(scrappin in the basement), tellin the story of our memories.
By the way- I can't leave a page now without inking it.
Oh and Chatterbox and Christina Cole paper are overcoming my craft table at the moment.
One more thing- I get to meet Ali Edwards in a week!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this life art!

Didn't work quite as well for the younger two, but we did our best! Thanks Elizabeth for this grand idea. The kids loved it and can't wait until next Friday!

Officially Summer!

It is officially summer in the Marquette Household. With both of us off our normal jobs we are excited to kick back and take it easy for three months. Ben and I both have projects...he will be building a garage in the backyard with a teacher friend of his and I will be babysitting two kids this summer. But with kids you can play so it's not really like work. Maya and I would be going to the pool, zoo, park, picnics, etc....anyway- why not add some more kiddos to the mix. These two girls are 9 and 6 and just a joy to be around. I'll post pictures of us all next week. I am sure we will be busy- Monday is gymnastics, Wednesday is playgroup and Friday I will attempt "Art Friday" and all the days in between we will be doing the fore mentioned activities! So I leave you with these pictures of truly summer indeed(not taken today for it was a high of 60 - but taken two weeks ago in the 80 degree weather we were teased with!)

Year End Dance Recital

Well- we did it! Another dance year accomplished successfully! The recital went off last night without a hitch. Kudos to all my staff, family and friends who are the backbone of this year end gala! You are so precious to me! I wish I had pictures to show, but being the director, it wasnt really possible....You may see them on Rachel's Blog later though!

I love each and everyone of my students dearly! I see such bright futures in all of them!
Gorgeous smiles, outstretched arms, pointed toes...just a few of the things the stood out in my mind. Another biggy was the Grand Finale. This song, The Grand Finale, I danced to growing up at my recitals. To see 300+ kids singing and dancing to it on the stage.....I have no words to describe the overwhelming sense of love, honor - so proud and touched! Beautiful, beautiful children!

Anyway- I love what I do. Although sometimes throughout the year, there are those hard days when I question it, but a day like yesterday makes me realize God has called me to this. "My cup runneth over" as my Pop would say!

Busy Bee...

Mind you it is the week of recital, but you know- I am an "I" in the meyers briggs test and I do need a little "me" time. This is what I do in "me" time:

Did you know that all those little extra scraps make great tags!

Special Cards for my Dancing Seniors!

Maya at Easter- I still am not sold on this one.

And my favorite, Yes Marie- tried the green and LOVED IT!
Also my first stitching piece with the software!

The End! Now I must get to bed!

Peas and Carrots

Do these look appetizing to you?
Can someone out there give me a kid friendly veggie recipe? Maybe if I disguise the peas in a sweet cream sauce she will eat them. Or maybe if I cover the carrots in brown sugar it will do the trick. I have a very picky two year old that doesn't eat her veggies. She loves fruit, but that's just not going to cut it. Any ideas?
