Flashback Friday

I have decided to join the Flashback Friday crowd. Wasn't sure about this due to the time it takes to dig out old old old photos, but....it's a great way to get to know someone! So- here goes!

Pigtails!

Maya's hair is finally long enough to put into cute little pigtails. Her Mama used to wear her hair like that too! Is she her mother's daughter or what!!

Brings me back.....

I have been at a point in my life where every second is filled with things. Work, choreography projects, laundry, cooking meals, running here and there for this and that....well stop already. In the midst of my life right now there is not a center. A place to stop and listen. Listen to God quietly tapping on my heart saying slow down- add some of Me to your life, I miss you.

All that God has for me, I want to receive. We don't have anything that isn't given to us, but a lot of times we don't receive all that God has to give us. This message was introduced to me today and has just knocked me down flat. Simple- just this. Receiving what God wants to give to me.

Thank you for bringing me back. You always do.....
(If I tell you all who is able to bring me back with a quiet simple message you will laugh, so I won't and you will just have to wonder...)

So Amen and God bless and I pray that you receive all that God has to give you!

Scraplifting

I have been inspired lately in my scrapbooking. Also determined.....determined to get crackin on my albums. I love doing this. I have to do it. It's protecting that precious life that already went by. Telling the story of what happened in the past with real words, beautiful embellishments and paper that actually create an atmosphere for those pictures. It almost brings you back to that same day. Big days like Christmas 2005, Birthday Parties and the day Maya took her first step. But also small days like the day you left the markers out and your kid colored all over the wall, the day your mom came to visit after not seeing her for awhile and the day all the neighborhood kids were out playing at the same time.

I joined two peas in a bucket which I am loving! It's a scrapbooking website where we all can share ideas, get/give advice and post our layouts. I feel like I have had always the same style. This website is opening me up to all these new and creative ideas. There is this thing called the weekly challenge. The team that runs the site offers you a challenge to kind of take you out of your norm, get ideas flowing, see the other techniques that are out there. This week it was to scraplift a layout of Ali Edwards. Um...her work is amazing. You can see it at www.aliedwards.typepad.com
But...not to be scared off and those empty albums are callin...I tried it. My georgous nephew, Riley.
